A little Me

Today I decided to post my newest piece. I havnt been working on my art as much as I should. This represents how I do most of my work. Its always a mess but turns out pretty! I always make the biggest messes when I am working on something. It looks like my desk only alot more pretty and girly! There are alot of details and  it was hard to take pictures of!

This was alot of fun make! I used hot glue and crayons. I melted the crayons into the glue and added some random things around my room. Lace, a butterfly, some silk roses, some scrapbook scraps... I really like the way it turned out! It is available on my Etsy and you can see more of my stuff there as well. I also have a Flickr with some more of my photos and things. Just click the slideshow on the right sidebar!  Oh, and tell me what you think about my collage!

UPDATE
This piece has been sold but if you are interested I can make one similar for you. Also my etsy is empty at the moment but I do have all of my work posted on my Facebook page. I am accepting commission work at the moment !!! Feel free to contact me at CrystalYeagerStudio@yahoo.com

Pinkle Toes Photography

I found this amazing photo while browsing Flickr and just had to click on the photostream!  And sure enough... more AMAZING photos!! This photographer out of Austin, Texas does exceptional work and I cant say how much of an understatement that is!! Her photos are so breathtaking and so personal. She captures every emotion in each shot. You can really tell she puts her whole heart and passion into each single photo she takes. They are all truly a work of art, the settings and color choices, the angles, the props, the lighting, the fine tuning and the presentation of the finished work. All just gorgeous!!

I got started much like every other mom who does photography: taking pictures of my kids.  I did have a fascination with photography growing up (I used to dress up my dolls and hold photo shoots with my mom's Polaroid camera), but I didn't really know what I was doing at all. And then one day I saw an image from the uber-talented and infinitely inspirational Jinky and decided that I wanted to do that, too.  And I just dove in.  I bought my first SLR (a Rebel XT), joined groups on Flickr, read EVERYTHING I could, and played, and played, and played until I started getting results I liked. And that's that. I just learned by reading and doing and making a lot of mistakes along the way. Two books that you should read: Understanding ExposurePhotographing Babies and Children (google it...you can't miss 'em).

I have browsed through her photos for hours just to pick a few to post here but there are hundreds more for you to see on her Flickr and her absolutely adorable and beautiful Blog! They are both a MUST SEE!!!

Luminous Inspirations by Kent Davis

This artist actually found me on flickr. I checked out his website and I really like what he has going. Its very different and beautiful. He takes wood and paper and light and puts it all together to create a piece of art. They seem to flow and feel very free and relaxing. The light adds so much to the artwork as if it is alive. Like the glow you have when you are genuinely happy.

As far back as I can remember I have always been intrigued by light and illumination. Even as a young boy my bedroom was aglow each night with the many glow-in-the-dark models I had built. As I got older I began collecting odd and unusual lamps. Eventually I began creating illuminated sculptures that have since evolved into the pieces I currently make. In creating these pieces I work with three main elements: wood, paper and light. I enjoy working with these natural materials, especially the paper due to its fragility, flexibility and beauty.

If you would like to learn more about this artist and his wonderful art, you can visit his website! There you can see more pictures of his work and the different angles to show the depth and details of each piece.

MADART

These wonderful pieces are done by Megan Aroon Duncanson or MADART. Most of her work is very nature inspired and so full of beautiful and bright colors. Her artwork has been featured on Grey's Anatomy in 2008 as well as an independent film. She has also been a featured artist on Art.com. These are a few of her works I liked most.

Megan Aroon Duncanson - Artist Statement

I am a self taught contemporary artist, living out my dream of being able to
create beautiful art as a profession

As long as I can remember I have been drawn to art and have always had a
pencil or brush in hand.
I am constantly trying to find my own unique space in a sea of artists. It is a
daunting task, but I think with my new style of art, as seen on the pages of this
website, I have finally found MY place. It's exhilarating and inspiring to feel as
though I'm doing something totally new and different. A style that I can grow
with and explore all matter of subject and color.
I have endless ideas spinning through my mind, but not enough time to put
them all on paper or canvas; such a shame life is so short, but, I am trying to
make the most of what little time I have to express myself artistically, and reach
out to others with my art. I am a highly prolific Artist and produce literally
hundreds of paintings in a single year. The more I paint the more prolific I
become.
I draw my inspiration from nature and everyday subjects around me. Living in one of the most remote places on the planet, the Bush of Alaska, as well as tropical paradise, Hawaii and Florida, has allowed me to use many different aspects in my art to inspire me.

You can see more of her beautiful art here and visit her website here.

More Jewelry!! VintageFiligree

Pura and Gina Haertlein design and create Vintage style jewelry. All of their designs are so delicate and feminine. They make me think of Da Vinci's Female head with her fair skin and soft features. I could imagine her wearing this jewelry and the intricate and detailed designs that are crafted into each custom design by Federikas Vintage Filigree.

"At the age of 15 after showing a talent for design, my parents enrolled me in a school of fine arts. Since then creating new and original pieces is my life’s passion. I also come from a very artistic family and was exposed to many art forms from an early age.
All of our jewelry designs are made with a touch mystique and romance, plus the combination of brilliant colors, dreams, and imagination. Each piece is delicately created one at a time, by hand and lavishly adorned.
Our jewelry pieces are created using the best materials including a variety of vintage and new Czech glass beads and stones, brilliant Swarovski crystals, seed beads, fire polished beads and many other types of beads depending on each individual creation. The filigrees we use for our creations are stamped from brass and resemble fine lace work. They have been used for more than 100 years in the art of jewelry design. In fact you may see many of these filigree repousses, findings, stampings and embellishments on antique jewelry because our filigrees are vintage or reproductions made with the original antique dies which are still in service today and made by their original filigree manufacturers. The filigrees are then hand rendered and/or layered by us to encase our vintage/antique glass gems or designs. Therefore the end result is a timeless heirloom for yesterday, today and tomorrow; just like the type of beautiful jewelry you'd find in a grandmother's jewelry box."

I couldn't imagine anyone not falling in love with this jewelry. Its just so gorgeous! You can purchase this wonderful jewelry at their shop on Esty, and have one of these fine beauties for yourself!

Cindy Valenzo's Gorgeous Glass

Cindy Valenzo creates her art using glass to turn it into these lovely pendants.
For an artist, the perfect jewelry is art, and this jewelry is perfect! So beautiful and elegant. They would make any outfit look stunning. They have such a smooth look and the colors are so brilliant. They are very unique and I am sure they are great for conversation. I know if I were to see someone wearing this jewelry, I would have to stop them and ask about it. If you love accessories, you must take a minute to look at these beautifully crafted Dichroic Glass pendants.

"I have been working with various forms of art all of my life. Let's say 40 years plus and leave it at that. I was brought up in an atmosphere where they often just looked at me and scratched their heads but didn't say I couldn't do something, as long as it wasn't too dangerous. I painted, made mosaics and sewed when I was younger but have always had a pull towards glass. I started in stained glass and after several years wanted to incorporate fused glass into my work. Once I started fusing I was hooked. There weren't many classes close by so I'm pretty much self taught. I had a studio and taught and sold supplies for a while but found little time for creativity. I closed the studio and moved it back to my house where I have been creating for the last 5 years. I Love color and Dichroic glass is certainly full of that. Nature, objects and just life in general inspires me and I'm like a Mad scientist and night owl because I like to work late at night and then I go to sleep and dream up more ideas."

Her shop is full of these gorgeous pendants, earrings, and other accessories. Out of her 512 lovely glass creations, I could only pick a few to post, so please stop by her shop to see more! You will be glad you did! There are so many variations and colors.
